CHRISTIAN HERTZLER
Mechanicsburg, Aug. 9.— Christian Hertzler, a prominent retired farmer, died at his home in East Main street, on Monday night, aged 89 years, after a brief lllness. A native of Lancaster county, Mr. Hertzler came to Cumberland county at an early age. He lived the greater part of his life in Monroe township, and his later years in Mechanicsburg. He was a member of the Slate Hill Mennonlte Church.
Funeral services will be held in the Union Church tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, with private burial in the Eberly graveyard near town.
These five daughters and three sons survive: Mrs. Anna Shelley, Miss Ella Hertzler, Mrs. Charles Eberly, J. H. Hertzler, Martin Hertzler, all of Mechanicsburg; Mrs. H. B. Todd, Pittsburgh; Mrs. B. F. Senseman, Philadelphia; C. E. Hertzler, Irvin, Pa. There are two brothers and one sister; D. F. Hertzler, Culpepper, Va.; Jacob M. Hertzer, Mrs. John Myers, Mechanicsburg.
